Awarded a gold medal in the super-premium single malt category, of The Whiskeys of the World Masters 2011 The Bourbon Single Cask edition, was released to commemorate Penderyn Distillery's tenth year of operations. This limited edition was bottled from one of the first barrels that we produced - it's also the first Cask Strength Bourbon finish that we've released.
This is a limited edition of 210 bottles at cask strength of 61.2% abv. It has a hand written label to verify cask strength, cask number and bottle number and each label will be signed by our Master Distiller, world renowned distilling and wood expert, Dr Jim Swan.
The bottle is presented in a hand made American oak box (American oak is used to make the barrels in which Penderyn is matured), which has been specially commissioned for Penderyn Distillery and produced locally in Wales, by fine furniture maker Giancarlo Bianchi.

Clean, ethereal and fresh! A mixture of fruits, both tropical and home-grown are obvious. Mango, pear, banana and Cox's pippins laid on a bed of vanilla oak and garnished with the merest hints of creamy toffee. In the mouth sweetness leads into the fruit compote followed by vanilla and caramels with touches of refreshing bitterness. On swallowing a clean and fruity aftertaste leaves us thirsting for more. A light delicate single malt all the way through with a long finish.
