Penderyn proudly announces the dedication of a single cask whisky for Swansea City.
Chairman Huw Jenkins and Manager Brendan Rodgers made a visit to the distillery recently and tasted a range of expressions of the Penderyn Spirit. They were joined by musician Max Boyce. They settled on a specially selected Port Cask that produced a rich fruity single malt whisky with a slight red gold colour.
Limited to 256 bottles, the Swansea City Single Cask is a cask strength whisky of 59.7% abv, and will be available from 8th December 2011.
Presented in a hand made American Ash box made by fine furniture maker Giancarlo Bianchi, the label is signed by our distiller, Gillian Macdonald. Huw, Brendon and Max all signed the cask number PT68.
Gill's Tasting Notes
A rich aroma of dried fruits, sultanas, juicy raisins, even dried apricots laced with hints of toasty oak mingle with the merest glimpses of fresh raspberries and blackcurrants. Then the aroma of pouring honey enters the scene. In the mouth, all these are present presenting a rich and creamy whisky. Intense sweetness and some refreshing bitterness are present in the palate right from the beginning but long lasting. The medium finish captures all the best of these flavours in a most satisfying way.
